The anticipation builds for the start of a new season of ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ basketball inside the G.B. Hodge Center, and season tickets for the 2025–26 men’s and women’s basketball campaigns are available now. Secure your seat today and be part of an exciting year as both programs look to compete for a Big South Conference title.

Men’s Basketball | 
The 2025–26 season marks the second year under head coach , who looks to build on last year’s progress and establish the Spartans among the Big South’s contenders.
Upstate returns three starters, including Second Team Preseason All-Big South redshirt junior  (11 PPG, 2 RPG, 4 APG), sophomore  (10 PPG, 5 RPG), and junior , who returns after missing much of last season due to injury. Gregory closed the year in strong form, posting double-figure scoring in five of his final seven contests.

Women’s Basketball | 
Under fourth-year head coach , the Spartans continue their climb in the Big South behind a young and exciting roster.
The 2024 Big South Freshman of the Year and Preseason All-Big South Second Team selection, Redshirt sophomore , returns as the team’s leading scorer (10 PPG, 3 RPG), alongside , who averaged 8 PPG in limited action last season.

2025–26 Schedule Highlights:

Men’s Basketball
ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ home opener is on November 8th against Southern Virginia University. The Spartans open their Big South slate at home against Radford on December 31, followed by a road matchup at Presbyterian. January brings home dates with Winthrop, UNC Asheville (part of the Ingles I-26 Rivalry Series), and Longwood, while February features key matchups against Charleston Southern, High Point and Gardner-Webb to close the regular season.  The Big South Men’s Basketball Championships will be held March 4–8 at Freedom Hall Civic Center in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Women’s Basketball
The Spartans open up their home schedule on November 6th against Erskine. Upstate opens league play Dec. 31 at Charleston Southern, returning home for contests against High Point (Jan. 3) and Winthrop (Jan. 7). The schedule features home dates with Presbyterian, Radford, and UNC Asheville, along with the Ingles I-26 Rivalry Series rematch at the Hodge on Feb. 14. The regular season concludes with Longwood (Feb. 21) and Gardner-Webb (Feb. 25) before postseason play begins.

Mark your calendar
Make special note of three early season dates coming up for fans to see both ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ basketball teams in action.
The basketball programs will join forces with the ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Office of Student Involvement for “Dunk or Treat” on Monday, October 27. The basketball programs will host open practices with the men at 5:30 followed by the women at 6:30 inside the Hodge Center while more than 50 student organizations host a Trunk or Treat in the parking lot of the Hodge Center.  Free admission, bring the kids from 5:30 – 7:30 pm. 

On Tuesday, November 25 the Spartans will host the first of three early season doubleheaders with the women facing Montreat at 4:00 pm followed by the men against NC Central at 7:00 pm. 

On Saturday, December 6th, the Spartans will host the second doubleheader with the men taking on Western Carolina at 2pm followed by the women against UNCG at 4:30 pm. 

Lastly, Wednesday, December 17th is the final doubleheader, this time of the day-night variety as the women host Ingles Education Day presented by BASF against Agnes Scott at 11am and the men host Southern Wesleyan at 7:00 pm. 

Broadcast & Coverage
All home men’s and women’s basketball games will be broadcast live on ESPN+ as part of the Big South Conference’s agreement with ESPN. ESPNU game selections will be announced approximately 10–14 days prior to each contest.
