Buenos Aires, Argentina

Buenos Aires, Argentina’s capital city, is situated on the shore of the Rio de la Plata. Buenos Aires is one of Latin America’s most important ports and most populous cities, as well as the national center of commerce, industry, politics, culture, and technology. The energy and bustle of modern Buenos Aires is most evident in the city centre with many options for entertainment, shopping, and restaurants.

Students enroll in courses at Universidad Catolica de Argentina. UCA has about 250 international students, mostly from Europe. Students with no language background will take introductory Spanish courses and other courses taught in English from a variety of disciplines. Spanish majors will take language courses based on their level.


Dublin, Ireland

Dublin, Ireland鈥檚 capital, is a world-class city with hosts of cultural and historical attractions. Dublin enjoys a vibrant musical and theatrical culture, and it is host to Ireland鈥檚 major museums and universities. Dublin is an excellent place for the first-time visitor to Europe because unlike larger, sprawling European cities such as London and Berlin, Dublin is manageable.

Courses are held at Dun Laoghaire’s Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT). Dun Laoghaire is a small coastal town less than an hour south of Dublin. Students may participate in a credited internship experience.


Lisbon, Portugal

Portugal is one of the world鈥檚 oldest nation-states, with over 800 years of history. Located on the southwestern coast of Europe, Portugal and its capital city, Lisbon, have been at the center of various waves of 鈥済lobalization鈥 linking Europe to Africa, the Americas and Asia.

Students will participate on the Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) program, the only program of its kind in Portugal, fully designed for North American students. The program offers is academically rigorous, however flexible as it is designed to meet the needs of undergraduates from a variety of majors. Its core curriculum is focused on Portugal’s place in Europe and Lisbon as a safe an attractive cosmopolitan hub from which to explore themes related to the larger Lusophone community of some 260 million people.

Lisbon is still considered one of the cheapest cities in the European Union. Portugal has a mild Mediterranean climate with over 200 days of sun per year. It鈥檚 the perfect place to spend lots of time outdoors biking, hiking, sunbathing, or spending the afternoon in an outdoor cafe with friends. Portugal is a foodie鈥檚 paradise! Fresh fish鈥攆rom grilled sardines to shellfish鈥攊s a must have in Lisbon.


Santiago de Compostela, Spain

The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is the legendary burial place of St. James the Apostle. A thousand years ago Santiago was considered an outpost of Catholicism; since then 鈥渆l Camino de Santiago鈥 has been one of the most important pilgrimages in Europe.

Surrounded by farmland, Santiago blends rural tranquility with the intellectual and cultural excitement of an urban area. Formerly declared a European Cultural Capital, the city is the seat of government for the autonomous region of Galicia and boasts Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, one of the finest universities in Spain.

Students will enroll in courses through Cursos Internacionales at Universidade de Santiago de Compostela with other American and international students. Additionally, students will participate in a 1-credit internship and a 1-credit service experience in the local community.
