An investigative reporter for The Boston Globe, Andrew Fyan (’99) has been named a 2024 fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University. Nieman Fellowships brings journalists from around the world to Harvard for a year.

Ryan will study how reinvigorated accountability reporting at the local level could be used to establish fresh footholds in news deserts. This will include examining whether artificial intelligence might help augment local investigative reporting.
